100 Years of Belgian Art

Saturday 22. 02. 20 I rode over to the Musée de Lodeve this morning to see this show. An excellent and well-curated show featuring many Belgian artists that I had never heard of. Unfortunately it closes tomorrow but well worth a visit. I drove over around Lac du Salagou in the sunshine – I think Spring is on its way!

Franglais encore

Friday 21. 02. 20 Had an interesting Franglais class this morning resulting in this.

Autoportrait

Thursday 20. 02. 20 A self-portrait from life is always a good way of getting back into things. I also prepared 4 canvases for a new series on transportation. Watch this space.

New Franglais

Tuesday 18. 02. 20 Did Franglais last Friday and unusually there were more Anglais than Françaises, probably due to it being half-term here and people being busy with their families. Other than that I have been slowly getting back into my life here, catching up with friends and going to Les Négociants every day. I have also added a new section to my website called BOOKS where you can preview and order a copy of any of my books.

Back Home

Wednesday 12. 02. 20 Got back home on Monday afternoon and have been busy reading Christmas cards ever since. Today was warm and sunny.

Back in town

Wednesday 11. 12. 19 Got back safely on Saturday despite strikes and delays at Montpellier airport. Cold and snow when I arrived but it has since warmed up with rain so most of the snow has gone now. Been busy catching up with friends, saw the Downton Abbey film and am back at the Y.

More Franglais

Thursday 21. 11. 19 I had forgotten to put these up. Today working on various paintings for the Whitton Project and others which need to dry before I head to Canada in December.

London lights

Tuesday 19. 11. 19 Just back from a week in London where I met up with Carole and Julia. Saw a number of exhibitions. Highlights were William Blake at Tate Britain, Peter Doig at Michael Werner and Anthony Gormley at the RA. Met two new people: Julian Huxley, photographer https://julianhuxley.wixsite.com/photography, outside Burberries and Oswald De Sybel at Tate Britain. Julian was taking a self portrait in the reflections of the display in the store and Julian was sketching me. I had interesting chats with both. Carole, Julia and I visited Maureen in Sandhurst, had a tasty dinner with Polly in Covent Garden and also saw the lights in Regent and Carnaby streets. A busy trip comme toujours!
