Wednesday 09. 07. 14 This is the view from the Ibis in Cairns and the other is Ned Kelly waiting in Brian’s old Toyota – a variation on the French white vans.

Tuesday 08. 07. 14 Did another room this morning – the view from the Desert Garden Hotel in Ayer’s Rock. Also started work on a big landscape of the A75.

 

Sunday 06. 07. 14 Have decided to try and and combine landscapes with other aspects of Australian life. Here is an Aboriginal dancer at the un- named falls at Miller’s Springs. Watch out for Ned Kelly coming up soon!!!

 

Friday 04. 07. 14 Did a small 8×10 of Melbourne harbour and started another slightly larger painting of the waterfall at Miller’s Springs.

Thursday 03. 07. 14 Here is another view from a room – this time in Alice Springs plus another painting of Lyn and Brian’s place, Miller’s Springs.

Tuesday 01. 07. 14 Did a couple more in this series. Sydney is Darlington Harbour from the Ibis at night and the other is Melbourne from the Mercure where we had no view!

Monday 30. 06. 14 These two small landscapes come from my trip. One is of Sydney and the other near Ayer’s Rock.

Saturday 28. 06. 14 Did another set of monoprints using dried flowers. Did poppies this time which unfortunately changed colour during the pressing and drying process. The broom retained their colour better altho they were duller too after drying and pressing.

Monday 23. 06. 14 This is a small oil sketch of Lyn and Brian’s place in Kangaroo Valley where we stayed near the end of  our trip to Australia.

Sunday 15. 06. 14 This is the first painting I have done since my return to France. It is based on a photo I took of a pair of dirty Blundstone boots left on the steps of a bakery whilst the owner went in to buy some bread. Very Australian – full of character, independent, practical and courteous.
