Plein air

Saturday 08. 04.17 It was a beautiful day today that I decided to go to the beach at Meze. Once there I thought that I would try and do a sketch using my iPad – not a good idea! I could barely see the image on the screen due to all the reflections. I managed the above but couldn’t add any colour because I couldn’t see the palette. I think I may have to rethink my idea of plein air painting with the iPad.

  1. Using the drawing/painting tools on a digital tablet does not have the same “feel” as physical tools, I find. The one benefit the tablet does have is the ability to work with layers that can separately be moved about and altered. One would require many hours of work to handle the digital tools with some skill. Yes, working in bright daylight is difficult — thus, a disadvantage in plein air.
