Friday 26. 06. 15 Finally had to face going back into the studio. Always a problem when I have been away is to get back down to work. So I have started with a small painting of Carole’s cousin Chris’ view out across her garden and beyond. It has to be one of the best views in Essex.
Monday 25. 05. 15 I have been experimenting with coloured pencils today and am wondering about trying this en plein air.
Friday 08. 05. 15 Finally got back to this one after about 5 months!
Friday 01. 05. 15 Did these two portraits of Julia and Andrew’s two children, Ilya 8 months and Quinn 3 years old. They are all staying at Claire’s house in Montpellier while Andrew is studying French. I can’t believe how difficult it is painting babies and young children and I suspect that I may have to revisit these a few more times!
Monday 28. 04. 15 Busy day in the studio today. Finally finished all the Rooms with a View from my stay in Canada. Shown above are the view of the back garden at Carlton St, Martin and Beryl’s at Merrickville and Fran and Clives cottage at Wood Lake.
Sunday 26. 04. 15 It has been a damp grey weekend so far. Such a contrast to Friday when it was warm and sunny. These daffodils are on my kitchen table.
Tuesday 21. 04. 15 Did this small oil painting today. It is the view from Julia’s bedroom window in February – brrrr.
Monday 06. 04. 15 I saw Geoff and Sandy last week and Geoff showed me this painting that he had done for his parents. It is in the style of Andrei Rublev a Russian iconographer. The main three figures are his grandfather, Geoff and his Dad with Geoff’s son in the top left hand corner playing soccer. It is hard to see from the photo but there are loads of icons buried within the painting and there are also pieces of text. It is brilliant!!
Tuesday 24. 03. 15 Another blown up drawing from mylar this time coloured in with coloured pencils.
Monday 23. 03. 15 I did this small painting of the demolition site at Yonge and College this morning.
