Saturday 12. 05. 15 I made this for Maddy and David as a gift for their “Jardinade” today. The image is based on Arthur Heming’s well-known painting – the bottle is Maple syrup not Rye whisky which is hard to find here!! The other image is the “box” for Laurie’s poems which is in fact The Virginians by Thackeray which I converted for the poems.

Wednesday 06. 05.15 Had to go to Meze the afternoon to get some sand for a project that I am working on. The beach was as beautiful as always.

Friday 01. 05. 15 Did these two portraits of Julia and Andrew’s two children, Ilya 8 months and Quinn 3 years old. They are all staying at Claire’s house in Montpellier while Andrew is studying French. I can’t believe how difficult it is painting babies and young children and I suspect that I may have to revisit these a few more times!
Christmas in April
Wednesday 29. 04. 15 George and Laurene decided to give me an art day for my Christmas present so today we drove to Serignan to the MRAC where we saw an intriguing expo called Le musée des erreurs: Barnum. Afterwards we went on to a delicious lunch in Narbonne followed by a visit to another gallery, privately run, called LAC. We had been there before but this time it was a disappointment but the the space is stunning.

Monday 28. 04. 15 Busy day in the studio today. Finally finished all the Rooms with a View from my stay in Canada. Shown above are the view of the back garden at Carlton St, Martin and Beryl’s at Merrickville and Fran and Clives cottage at Wood Lake.

Sunday 26. 04. 15 It has been a damp grey weekend so far. Such a contrast to Friday when it was warm and sunny. These daffodils are on my kitchen table.
