Autoportraits

Wednesday 17. 05. 17 I think I have finally found a format for these. I’m going to make an accordion book on Kraft paper with ten different pages for different stages of my life. The page size is 75 x 60 cm so it is quite large. This is the start of the first page when I was about 3 years old.

Marseille

Friday 05. 05. 17 Went to Marseille on the train today with Patricia. Visited MUCEM and also the magnificent Notre Dame de la Garde overlooking the harbour.Had a very tasty fish lunch in the Vieux Port.

Le Mouguet

Saturday 29. 05. 17 Monday is May Day here. The French tradition of giving lily-of-the-valley flowers is supposed to have begun on May 1st, 1561, when King Charles IX of France was presented with a bunch  as a token of luck and prosperity for the coming year. .

England

Thursday 23. 03. 17 Got back from a trip to England last night. I stayed with Chris and Viv in Hemingstone and then spent the rest of the trip in London. Had a great time in Suffolk, reading the village history that Chris has written and seeing the new planting of their wood. The highlight of London was the superb Hockney show at Tate Britain – very well curated with a number of little-known early paintings. Also saw an excellent expo of Vanessa Bell at Dulwich, Australian Impressionists of the National and Harald Stoffers at the Gallery of Everything. The Hands above were in Woodbridge SuffolkLots to think about!

Spring is here

Agde1

Wednesday 22. 02. 17 Went with Patricia to Agde for lunch today. The weather was beautiful and there were even people sunbathing.

Lasting memories

Hearts

PoppyScarf

Tuesday 14. 02. 17 Just got back home from my Christmas trip to Toronto. The hearts on the door were Alisa’s idea – we each had to write something about each other each day for the first 14 days in February. Not as easy as you think and a good exercise in making you think about other people. The other photo is Poppy modelling the hat and scarf that Jason made her on his new knitting loom. He is trying to knit instead of fiddling with his iPhone or falling asleep in front of the TV!!!!
