Monday 11. 03. 13 I’m still trying to find some alluminium sheets to use for my Yonge Street project but meanwhile I continue with my Canadian portraits.
Tuesday 26. 02. 13 Got back home yesterday. Warmer here and sunny. After stocking up at the supermarket rode around lac du Salagou and noticed mimosas and almond trees in blossom – Spring is on its way! This is an oil pastel that I did of Jon on his new moto whilst I was in TO.
Sunday 28. 01. 13 Just back from visiting Beryl and Martin in Merrickville. It was cold but no snow and the train was late both ways, however, enjoyed a visit with Martin to the Cube, Gallery 3 and the Orange gallery
Wednesday 02. 01. 13 I have been doing some more portraits of French friends using oil pastels as above but I think that I may paint over them using linseed oil to get a more painterly effect.
Friday 28. 12. 12 We had our first 10 cm of snow yesterday which transformed the world. Beautiful and silent except for the sound of spinning wheels on the ice.
Thursday 20. 12. 12 I have been back in Toronto for nearly two weeks now. I have been up north, driven into a ditch and had the stomach flu. I have also done another portrait and started on a new series of drawings based on Yonge Street. No snow yet but some expected this weekend.
