Saturday 30. 04. 16 I think that this one is now finished.

 

Friday 29. 04. 16 Since I have been housesitting at the Mas Bellevue I have been doing some small watercolours en plein air.

 

Monday 25. 04. 16 Finally got back to working on this one today. Hopefully I can get it finished this week.

 

Monday 25. 04. 16 I was riding past the Calvaire just outside Ceyras today when I noticed that the cross had been knocked off. I can’t imagine how this happened as there seemed to be no other signs of damage. A mystery. Above is the painting that I did last September and the photo that I took today. Bizarre!!

 

Thursday 21. 04. 16 Just back from a busy week in London. Saw the Painting the Modern Garden at the RA, Conceptual Art in Britain at the Tate Britain, Performing for the Camera at Tate Modern – all disappointing. Enjoyed the Botticelli at the Courtauld – drawings for Dante’s Inferno – exquisite! Did a couple of great London Walks and went to the Dickens Museum. Also saw Carol, Polly and Lawrence and Diane. Above are 2 postcards that I made for Daisy and Poppy.

Sunday 10. 04. 16 I have finally finished a portrait of Poppy which I’m giving to Alisa for her birthday today. This is one of 5 portraits that I made. Not easy to paint young faces!!! Unfortunately it has to dry before I can send it.

 

Wednesday 06. 04. 16 En route from the cave in St Saturnin this afternoon after picking up some wine I stopped to make a quick sketch. I wanted to try out sketching with coloured pencils. Not as easy as it might appear and there is never quite the right colour!! More experiments needed and perhaps some water.

 

Tuesday 05. 04. 16 Did a new chalk drawing for the wall over my bed today. It is a sedum spectabile which grows in my window box.

Friday 01. 04. 16 Today worked on a portrait of Poppy.
